Seeking More
I’ve always wanted to do more. to find a way to make a difference in this life. I have come to understand that what most people want at their core is more love, more sharing, more abundance, more gratitude and more peace.
Then one day not long ago I found it. That thing I could do that could change some lives. It’s not grandiose and doesn’t need to be. I just want to serve from my heart. The thing is , I love tea and what it has done for me and the way it makes me feel. Whether I am sipping tea alone or sharing a pot with a friend there is a calm, a completeness if you will that washes over me. I blend our tea for Divine Lotus Tea in a way that brings healing to those who drink it and I thought why not create a set of teas that helps bring awareness. So, I developed a set of teas that shares the essences of Idaho. With the assistance of The Idaho History Museum ,
The Idaho Collection was born.
Things Got Way More Interesting…
To my amazement, serendipitous events started to evolve. I witnessed children learning in a year round outdoor education program called EverWild Forest School. They learn in their environment and about their environment regardless the weather. I found this so inspiring and I feel this is a vital piece of the future of these children and the planet. They are learning about nature, but even more importantly they are learning skills in self worth, leadership, and caring for all living creatures and each other.
What happened next is so incredible. I found out that the teachers were serving hot tea to the kids for snack time. Being a tea lover and owner of a small tea company this was music to my ears. I contacted Erica Hermsen the founder and director and introduced myself and asked if I could donate some tea. I guess the tea was a big hit with the kids. Fairy Flower tea is great for kids and they usually love the subtle citrus flavor. The school is a non-profit here in Idaho so I asked if they had a scholarship program and if I could somehow help build that up.
This is where we circle back around to “The Idaho Collection”. I then suggested that we use the gift set to raise funds for the school scholarship program. It is the perfect pairing. Educating more of Idaho’s children about their environment and bringing more awareness to Idaho, It’s lands and It’s people through teas that represent each of the sections of Idaho. The North with it’s forests and lakes, Central with it’s mountains and rivers, and South with it’s deserts and agricultural lands. The gift set inspires contemplation of these special places and peoples with three tea meditations that come with the set. The Idaho History Museum is a very special place and the teas coincide with each section of the museum dedicated to the parts of Idaho mentioned. I am so grateful to have created this set with them.
Each box sold contributes $3. to the EverWild Forest School scholarship fund. My goal is to create scholarships for 10 children by November 1, 2022. I am so grateful for this purpose. When we give a child the gift of knowledge and understanding of the nature around them we secure a stronger future for our planet and humanity. They will grow up strong and resilient. They will have a strong sense of who they are and their self worth will grow and with it the worth of a strong nature based community. I hope you will take heart and join in the cause. If you don’t drink tea or know people who do you can just go in to Giving Back and give a little or a lot. It means the world to all of us.
For the record I hope you try the teas. May you and yours be blessed.
One of the best on the go systems I have found . It keeps the tea hot for hours. I Love It!
