The Gaiwan pre-dates the teapot that we are all so familiar with. It is simplicity itself. It is basically a cup with a lid and usually a small saucer to sit upon. You add tea, add water, let it steep and if you want you can drink directly from the Gaiwan. This is quite common in China. It is perfect for tea for one.
This beautiful Gaiwan is unglazed on the outside and decorated with Twin Dragons. The inside is glazed in white and holds approximately 5 ounces. Made from high quality Yixing clay, this Gaiwan is a thing of beauty. Make it part of your ceremony.
