In the Taoist tradition the strongest Qi or cosmic energy resides in the mountains. Silver Needle is grown on Nán Yuè Héng Shan, the southern mountain of the 5 Sacred Mountains in the Hunan and Fujian provinces of China. One look at this amazing tea will tell you that it is grown, harvested and processed with the greatest care and respect. Small leaf buds, harvested in early spring, are long, thin and unbroken. They are covered with a white silvery down, hence the name Silver Needle.
Whenever I drink this tea I feel a sense of honor and ceremony. It’s flavor profile is of mild floral honey. Truly delicious and healthful.
